That's why user research and empathy-driven design are at the heart of everything I do. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with companies of all sizes, from scrappy startups to established enterprises, helping them create digital experiences that their users actually enjoy.
After 25 years in this field, I've learned that great design isn't just about making things look good—it's about making complex things simple, frustrating things delightful, and impossible things possible. I believe in asking the right questions, listening carefully to the answers, and then crafting solutions that feel effortless to use. I'm passionate about mentoring other designers and building teams that thrive on collaboration and creativity. Some of my best work has come from those moments when the whole team is energized around a shared vision, and everyone brings their unique perspective to the table.
Currently, I lead the user experience design team at WealthCounsel, where I work with a talented team of product designers and user researchers. Together, we create software experiences that make the complex world of estate planning more approachable for attorneys and their clients.
When I'm not leading design sprints or diving into user research, you'll find me running Epiphany Graphics, my design consultancy. This is where I get to work directly with businesses near and far, tackling everything from website design and branding to complex application interfaces. There's something incredibly satisfying about taking a company's vision and translating it into a digital experience that truly connects with their audience.
Living in Steamboat and celebrating the mountain lifestyle has shaped how I approach design. There's a certain patience and appreciation for craftsmanship that comes from living in a place where quality matters more than quantity. Whether I'm on the slopes, riding singletrack, hiking a trail, or just enjoying the slower pace of mountain life with my sons, I find that stepping away from the screen often leads to the best creative breakthroughs.
